Sadly we have not been able to arrange a group discount, but booking.com has great locational sorting (search for Holborn, Clerkenwell) and then on the left hand side you can drill down into the results until you find something you like.
Also, lastminute.com run a “secret” hotels section for hotels in London. You can normally bag a good deal 4 or 5 star hotel at a very reasonable price. Catch being you don’t find out the name until you book, but you can book within a location.
From my search, this place Studios2Let in Bloomsbury looks good, very well located, and above all cheap.
I booked with Expedia in the Bayswater Inn in Bayswater, a couple of stops on the Central line away. It was cheap – someone let me know if I made a massive mistake
