RedMonk are proud to announce that Monki Gras 2019 will be held at Plexal. Housed in the former Press Centre at the Olympic Park in Stratford alongside the thriving innovation hub Here East, Plexal was officially opened by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan in June 2017.
We wanted to find a new kind of venue for Monki Gras this year. With our 2019 focus on accessibility we felt we needed to move away from some of the post-industrial Shoreditch commercial spaces we have become accustomed to, and find something built with accessibility as a key design concern.
This beautiful state of the art facility is also home to the headquarters of Scope who have said their relocation will enable them to collaborate with other organisations on the campus, including the Global Disability Innovation Hub and UCL and Loughborough University London. Plexal is also home to Plexiglass, a deep tech accelerator programme for female led start-ups.
Stratford is now one of the best connected places in London with great transport links and a there is free shuttle bus service to Plexal every 5 minutes from both Stratford International and Stratford City Station – the shuttle is fully accessible. Please let us know if you have any special transportation needs – we have bursaries for that.
